Meet Pascal Adesina

I'm a live, touring and studio guitarist, music teacher, producer, live arranger, music content creator and writer, based in Toronto, Canada. Between being contracted to play on or produce records, play in concerts, and travelling to other parts of the world to play, music is a pretty big part of my life. I chose music as a professional path in 2021 and took content creation around the things I know more seriously in 2023. When I'm not in front of a camera or on a stage, I work as a freelance writer and editor. Having spent a number of years creating argumentative text at a high level, I knew I could translate my experience... and so, I did. I create content to teach people music theory, share practical guitar tips, and share my arrangements, production commissions and passion projects. I've dedicated my life to making the things that are stuck in people's heads, but they "just can't get out" come to life.

A Little More About Me

I graduated from McMaster University in 2021 with a degree in Honors Justice, Political Philosophy and Law. That's right, I do not have a degree in music. To be very honest, I'm glad I got a degree in something else. I often think about "what could have been", but I have come to realise that that my degree has provided me with better methods of thinking about the world around me, and this includes my approach to creating and teaching music. Since then, I've played in a number of U.S. states (and Puerto Rico), the U.K., and a handful of countries in Europe. I've played in Royal Albert hall to a (very, very nearly) sold-out crowd, accompanied world-renowned artists such as Deborah Cox in historic performances, and toured in support of Alicia Keys, just to name a few things. Along the way, I realized that there aren't many people who look like me that remain transparent and provide insight into all that the life of a music professional entails, and the ones that do simply don't have the frame of thinking that my degree and my faith give me. This realization pivoted me towards creating content to show and teach people things that nobody has the "time" or "energy" to teach people, as well as guide me towards teaching multiple instruments at both theoretical and practical levels, both for individuals and small groups. Think of this website as the central nervous system for all the things I do, and some of the things I forget to do. Watch a video, book a lesson, send me a message, check out the store, or read a blog post or two. It'll be a good time.
