I graduated from McMaster University in 2021 with a degree in Honors Justice, Political Philosophy and Law. That's right, I do not have a degree in music. To be very honest, I'm glad I got a degree in something else. I often think about "what could have been", but I have come to realise that that my degree has provided me with better methods of thinking about the world around me, and this includes my approach to creating and teaching music. Since then, I've played in a number of U.S. states (and Puerto Rico), the U.K., and a handful of countries in Europe. I've played in Royal Albert hall to a (very, very nearly) sold-out crowd, accompanied world-renowned artists such as Deborah Cox in historic performances, and toured in support of Alicia Keys, just to name a few things. Along the way, I realized that there aren't many people who look like me that remain transparent and provide insight into all that the life of a music professional entails, and the ones that do simply don't have the frame of thinking that my degree and my faith give me. This realization pivoted me towards creating content to show and teach people things that nobody has the "time" or "energy" to teach people, as well as guide me towards teaching multiple instruments at both theoretical and practical levels, both for individuals and small groups. Think of this website as the central nervous system for all the things I do, and some of the things I forget to do.
